About the Orphanage
The international Christian Orphanage (I.C.O), what is it about?
This is a private social organisation that was created four years ago to join forces with the government to fight for the rights of orphaned and abandoned children who happen to be at a disadvantage because of their social status. We just need to take a very close look at our society today to observe that there are so many children who are abandoned to themselves with no one to take an interest in them and their future. They are deprived of the basic rights of children like a good home, good food, access to medical facilities, a good education leisure and recreational facilities.
I.C.O firmly believes that it is not because a child happens to have lost parents that he has to be considered as a second-class citizen who is not worthy of a decent life.

Voluntary Service
Mindful of the fact that there are many people out there who are looking for a meaning to their lives and are wondering how they can be useful to the society, I.C.O. also aims at;
Providing an opportunity to people who have been longing to work as volunteers in the social domain to achieve their dreams;
Providing an environment where people of the third age group can positively occupy themselves by taking care of children and in this way, find fulfilment in being useful to mankind. People of the third age group used to feel that it is all over for them. I.C.O. gives them an opportunity to be useful;

- All workers are volunteers who offer themselves for one service or another
- Workers pledge to abide by the rules and regulations governing the orphanage
- The main objective of the orphanage is to create an atmosphere of love, peace and serenity where people can feel free to seek God and develop healthy and meaningful relationships.
- People will allow love to permeate their beings which will then govern all their actions and reactions.
- Everyone will do his/her work wholeheartedly; no half-measures; excellence is the guiding force in all the work that is done.
- No quarrelling at anytime for any reason whatsoever; workers will try to settle conflicts as quickly and as quietly as possible while the difficult cases will be handled by the members of the administration.
- Cleanliness will be another watchword; we should all try to practise as much cleanliness as we can.
- Mutual respect, politeness and courtesy must be evident; no form of insolence or rudeness will be tolerated
- Everyone will endeavour to smile as much as he/she can.
- Pure relationships between male and female workers
- There will always be collective devotions, Bible study and meditation; everyone is encouraged to develop a strong personal relationship with the Lord in personal Bible study and prayers; the Christian library should be well exploited by all.

Head Office and Jurisdiction
The Head Office of I.C.O. is located in Yaounde but as an international organisation, the world in general forms the jurisdiction of I.C.O beginning from Cameroon. There is no distinction of tribe, race or nationality
